This Incredible Underground Secret Is as Mysterious as It Is Beautiful

Back in 1835, a laborer was carpenter a field in Margate, an English seaside town. After dropping the hoe on the ground, he simply disappeared: he cut a deep hole and fell into a dark structure. James Newlove, the principal of a nearby school, offered his own son, Joshua, to go down the hole with a candle, and investigate the discovery.

When he returned to the surface, Joshua told him that he had found a 'magical' temple, adorned with shells. Of course, people did not immediately believe him. But after the hole was enlarged enough for adults to enter through it, they saw that the boy was right.

There was a kind of temple there, adorned with 4.6 million shells. In 1837, the cave was opened for public visitation - but we still do not know much about its origins.
