When the craving for a Big Mac strikes, it can't be ignored. (It is, after all, one of the best fast food burgers you can eat.) Or, in this case, a Happy Meal. An unnamed 8-year-old Ohio boy was apparently feeling this pull when he decided to steal his parent's car and drive himself and his younger sister to McDonald's, according to a story published on Gizmodo. The daredevil taught himself how to drive by watching a YouTube video, which apparently worked—according to the article, witnesses said he "obeyed all traffic laws and drove the speed limit."

According to the article, the brother-sister duo waited until their parents fell asleep, grabbed the keys to the family van, and set their sights on the Golden Arches. Family friends recognized the boy and called his grandparents, who alerted authorities. By the time police had arrived at the restaurant, the pair had already made their way through the drive-thru, ordering a burger, chicken nuggets, and french fries. The kid paid for the late-night snack with money from his piggy bank.
The article stated that when the drive-thru worker was asked why a kid who could barely see over the door didn't raise any alarms, the worker said he assumed the boy's parents were in the back seat. Hey, he paid for his food, fair and square.
The little guy has some guts to say the least. Authorities stated that the route took the boy over railroad tracks, through 4 intersections, and required a number of left- and right-hand turns. When authorities asked the boy where he learned to drive, he said that he had watched a few YouTube videos. This kid is our hero.
Parents, we are at a loss. You have one of the most difficult jobs in the world, and we applaud you.
